The class of 2020 will start their own school traditions in less than two weeks at the new Cypress Park High School, and S&P is thrilled to be nearing the end of this amazing project. The new 592,000 square foot high school provides a wide array of facilities for standard core curriculum subjects, fine arts, athletics, and career and technical education. The 179-acre site will also accommodate a future middle school and an elementary school.

HISD Wisdom High School Tops Out

HISD Wisdom HS Topping Out The team at S&P’s Wisdom High School project with HISD and WHR Architects celebrated a milestone last week. On Friday, we held a topping out ceremony for the new school. As part of HISD’s current bond program, Wisdom High School (formerly Lee High School) is adding a new 240,000 SF facility that features a two-story building divided into four neighborhood wings with flexible learning spaces and plenty of windows to maximize natural light.

Fort Bend ISD Schools Awarded to S&P

Fort Bend ISD Middle School #15

S&P has been awarded a $73 million contract to build Elementary School (ES) #48 and Middle School (MS) #15 for Fort Bend Independent School District to help address growth in the Sienna Plantation community.

Designed by IBI Group, ES #48 is a new 123,000 SF two-story elementary school designed for 850 students. MS #15 is a new 229,000 SF two-story middle school designed for 1,200 students. Both schools are currently being designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified Level. Features will include spaces devoted to sparking creativity in students and a central library stocked with laptops and mobile devices instead of exclusively desktop computers.

The new schools will be constructed on a 47-acre parcel located in Missouri City, Texas. The new schools will be located on future Waters Lake Blvd., south of future (extension of) Sienna Parkway. Elementary School 48 is expected to open in the fall of 2017, and Middle School #15 will be ready for students for the fall of 2018.

New Training Center Opens at Fort Hood

IMG_6050Fort Hood and community leaders hosted a ribbon cutting  to celebrate the opening of North Fort Hood’s new Operational Readiness Training Complex, (ORTC). It is one the biggest projects to take place on North Fort Hood since it’s creation during World War II in 1942. The $51M project is part of a six-phase, $288-million initiative to bring the training center into the 21st century with the end goal of being able to support a brigade size unit. Satterfield & Pontikes served on the design-build joint venture team.

Klein ISD 5 Tops Out

for WebsiteOn February 26th, 2016, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction celebrated the completion of steel erection on Klein Independent School District’s new high school by hosting a traditional topping-out ceremony. The final steel beam was hoisted to the top of the structure with a fir tree and an American flag affixed. More than 300 attendees viewed the ceremony and were given commemorative t-shirts at an onsite luncheon.

HISD Young Women’s College Prep Community Meeting

RenderingS&P team members joined HISD for a recent community meeting showcasing the progress of Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy. The school, among HISD’s oldest school buildings, will undergo a $27.1 million renovation/addition that will expand learning spaces throughout the current building and add modern science and technology labs to enhance STEM curriculum.
