Houston, TX

Owner: Houston ISD
Architect: Stantec
LEED Silver®

The 367,118 SF, three-story facility – completed ahead of its scheduled fourth quarter 2019 date – accommodates up to 2,750 students. The building is designed to have a collegiate feel with plenty of classroom space, informal meeting areas to facilitate project-based learning, a large outdoor courtyard, and a fine arts wing with an 800-seat auditorium and black box theater.

The project sits on a tight site next to a major thoroughfare, and the new building was constructed while the existing facility remained operational. Phase 2 is abatement and demolition of existing school and construction of new athletic fields.
