Marcus High School 9th Grade Center

Flower Mound, Texas

Owner: Lewisville ISD
Architect: PBK
$42.4 M

With a growing student enrollment straining facilities at Marcus High School, Lewisville ISD needed a standalone ninth-grade center. Located near the main high school building, the center provides all the necessary educational resources for ninth-graders in a self-contained campus.

The two-story, ninth grade building is constructed with steel frame and brick veneer exterior. Existing facilities at the high school received an addition to the fine arts area and a renovated corridor and athletics area for better hallway circulation. Project work also included parking, covered walkways, utilities and demolition.

The entire high school campus remained occupied and active during the project’s duration. S&P’s project-specific safety plan ensured that students were separated from work areas at all times and that construction activities posed no safety risk to ongoing school activities
