Wisdom High School
Architect: WHR / Lake Flato
New 268,000 SF high school that replaced the existing facility and numerous temporary buildings on the campus. The final facility houses 1,700 to 1,900 students. The original building constructed in 1962 had developed irreparable foundation issues, water leaks, and deteriorating air conditioning and heating systems. In addition, many of the instructional spaces were substandard.
The project was completed in multiple phases, on a tight site in an active neighborhood. After receiving substantial completion on the new campus, S&P worked with the school to transition into the new facility. The original high school was then demolished and replaced with sports fields, green space and a new front entrance for students.
