Klein Cain High School

Klein, TX

Owner: Klein Independent School District
Architect: PBK

At 665,000 SF, Klein Independent School District’s new Cain High School is one of the largest schools in the Houston area. Phase 1 included all site work, parking, drives and utilities. Phase 2 includes construction of the building and all related improvements.

S&P provided preconstruction assistance to the District with the selection of building systems, cost estimating and scheduling during the design phase. The school is built on an 83-acre site in northwest Houston and accommodates up to 3,500 students. Along with modern classrooms and labs, the school includes a 1,200-seat dining facility, fine arts areas, numerous career and technical education spaces, and gymnasiums and athletic fields.

Robert Robertson - Klein ISD

The Klein Cain High School is by far the largest ever undertaken by Klein ISD and as such, carried great risks. These risks have been more than mitigated by our strong, partnership, the use of technology, and the team's dedication to delivering a high-quality project.

S&P leveraged our technology to provide real-time cost feedback during budget review sessions with the Owner and A/E team. The end result was delivering a GMP that maximized value to the District, with a variance of less than 0.05% lower than our original BIM-based estimate.
