The city of Palmhurst in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas received an H-E-B grocery store, fuel station and brushless automatic car wash in Satterfield & Pontikes Construction’s first project for the large supermarket chain. At 97,000 SF, the Palmhurst store is larger than most H-E-B stores. Construction was completed in only seven months.
The building is constructed with a structural steel framing system and thermoplastic single-ply membrane roof with solar tubes and 86 skylights. Exterior finishes include brick, cast stone, metal wall panels, concrete masonry unit, and exterior insulation and finish system (synthetic stucco), as well as curtainwall storefront system. Interior finishes feature ceramic tile,drywall, resilient flooring and polyurethane flooring.
