Fort Bend ISD opened a brand new Middle School this fall. The new, 229,000 SF Ronald Thornton middle school addresses rapid growth in Fort Bend County and serves the Sienna Plantation community. The 229,000 SF facility houses 1,200 students, and includes a master plan for future expansion to the full 1,450 student capacity. Designed to achieve LEED Certified level, the building’s features include spaces devoted to sparking creativity in students and a central library stocked with laptops and mobile devices instead of exclusively desktop computers. The new school was built next to the recently completed Leonetti Elementary School, creating a learning campus for the District.
