George A. Pontikes, Jr.
President/CEO

Since the mid-1970s, George Pontikes has been involved in development and construction. From project manager to president, he has never forgotten his roots, his business instincts or the needs of his clients.

He founded Satterfield & Pontikes with Tommy Satterfield in 1989. Today, the company is responsible for over $500 million in annual construction. As President, Mr. Pontikes oversees financial administration and all key management staffing selections.

He is an innovator in construction management systems and, drawing on the lessons learned from hundreds of projects, he has pioneered many technological advancements. His personal involvement with building information modeling (BIM) and Practical Project Delivery® (PPD), as well as his financial commitment to testing them on his own building, produced a project that has earned a national award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for the most inspirational BIM pilot project for 2006, along with more than a dozen other awards for architecture, construction, innovation and sustainability.

In 2002, Mr. Pontikes was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Real Estate & Construction. He currently serves on several boards, including: the Houston Chapter of the AGC, the largest in the country; Greater Houston Partnership; Galveston Bay Foundation; the ISI Acquisition Corporation; and the Parish School, a private institution specializing in teaching language-challenged children. Among his many honors, Mr. Pontikes was the eighth person to be inducted into the Texas A&M University Contractors Hall of Fame.
